The DAF dissolved air flotation unit is used in the removal of oils and greases and in all those cases in which the specific weight of the suspended substances, of an insoluble organic and/or inorganic nature, is equal to or lower than that of water.
The substances are separated thanks to the low density and the injection of a gaseous stream into a fraction of the already treated effluent.
The heavier particles contained in the wastewater settle on the bottom of the flotation unit from which they are periodically removed by means of discharge valves.
